Pyr breeding program

Presently we have two females in our breeding program: Maggie and Emily. We try to restrict them to only one litter a year with a least one heat cycle off between litters. We anticipate two more litters for Maggie before she retires. Emily had her first litter last year. We have a young female, Katie, who will take Emily’s place when she is old enough to breed.

Maggie has very nice badger markings while Emily and Katie are white. Rascal is our only intact male on the farm. He is a magnificent looking male with a great coat. He can be found in the worst weather, lying on the top of his limestone “hill” either fast asleep or just keeping watch over the farm. It is not unusual to see him covered with snow, fast asleep. Seems the snowier and colder the weather, the more he likes it!

The others enjoy the weather as well, often we see them standing onto the wind to lying on the frozen pond. Add puppies to the mix and all are young again!
