Who we are

Lucinda is an assistant professor in the College of Education at Urbana University teaching Early Childhood Education courses. She is also a doctoral student at Antioch University. Born and raised in Cincinnati, living on a farm and raising anything was never something she dreamed about but she always loved animals and always had a house cat or two. Today, between preparing lesson plans and working on her doctorate, she can be found outside grooming her pyrs, helping John the alpacas or just relaxing at the pond watching her ducks. Or you’re likely to find her in her sewing room, making cria coats or things for our grandchildren.

Friendly and outgoing, Cinda has never know or met a stranger. She loved meeting people at shows and sharing her love of her alpacas and pyrs.

John is a retired after teaching history for 30 years at Coldwater High School and at Wright state university. In addition he built custom cabinets and furniture as well as several houses. He is enjoying immensely his days around the farm – only wishing his Dad and Grandfathers were around to see him their advice and guidance and many patient hours has resulted. Every chance he has he is trying to learn more about alpacas, pyrs and other residents. Some might call it “goofing off” but he prefers to call it “observing nature”.
